Tropical Cyclone Alfred is expected to turn towards the southeast Queensland coast today with a coastal impact later this week. Residents are urged to prepare and clean up their properties now.

Rubbish collection services suspended:
Rubbish collection will be restricted to red bins only on Wednesday 5 March and citywide bin collection will stop from Thursday 6 March until further notice, due to the significant risk of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
If you are due for bin collection on Wednesday 5 March, please only put your red bin out to ensure collections can occur before the expected high winds. Please bring in and secure your bin as soon as possible after collection.
All other residents should bring in and secure their bins as soon as possible.
Free green waste drop-off is available at all four Resource Recovery Centres (RRCs), open extended hours 6.30am – 8.45pm, located at:
- Willawong – 360 Sherbrooke Rd
- Chandler – 728 Tilley Rd
- Ferny Grove – 101 Upper Kedron Rd
- Nudgee – 1372 Nudgee Rd
Sandbags are available 24/7 for collection, located at:
- Darra – South Depot, 38 Shamrock Rd
- Lota – Lota Depot, 58 Herbert St
- Morningside – Balmoral Depot, 9 Redfern St
- Newmarket – SES Depot, 66 Wilston Rd
- Zillmere – North Depot, 33 Jennings St
Additional temporary sandbag sites:
