Nathan BioBlitz 2026
Community members are invited to take part in the Nathan BioBlitz 2026, a hands-on biodiversity survey celebrating the unique plants and animals found in our local area.
Dates: 4-5 September 2026
Time: 7am-5pm each day
Conducted over two days, the BioBlitz brings together residents, students, researchers and environmental enthusiasts to identify and document species within a designated survey area. Participants will use the iNaturalist app to record observations, helping build valuable scientific data about local biodiversity.
The survey area will differ from previous years, providing new opportunities to discover and document wildlife and native vegetation.
Participants can register for one or both days and are encouraged to bring:
- A mobile device with the iNaturalist app installed
- A phone charger or power bank
- Sun-safe clothing and a hat
- Enclosed footwear
- Water and food for the duration of participation
The Nathan BioBlitz is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, learn from others and contribute to meaningful citizen science while exploring one of Brisbane’s most important bushland areas.
