SPOTLIGHT | Archerfield Wetlands Parkland is one of Oxley Creek’s numerous parklands. The Archerfield Wetlands Discovery Trail is a three-kilometre walking and cycling trail that meanders through Oxley Creek’s eucalypt forests, open grassland, freshwater wetlands and is home to over 150 different bird species. The main entry to the site is off Bowhill Road, Willawong. An additional short 450m walking track, accessed via the Discovery Trail, leads to a shady lookout point with views over the wetlands which is perfect for bird spotting and a picnic!
Save the date for the opening of the new Archerfield Wetlands District Park scheduled later in 2024. The beautiful four hectares of nature-based parkland will feature a large adventure play space; water play area; youth hub with basketball court; event and activity lawn and bush foods garden. It will also be home to the Oxley Creek Catchment Association. This park will have a direct connection to the Discovery Trail and will be fully accessible.
